Claude Motion Graphics Skills: What to Install in Claude Code
October 7, 2026
Keston CollinsVideo editor with nearly 10 years of experience, exploring the intersection of motion graphics and AI.
The motion graphics skills worth knowing for Claude Code fall into three groups. Framework skills, like Remotion's Agent Skills and HyperFrames, teach Claude to write video code that renders to MP4. Focused skills, like Pixel2Motion for logos, do one job well. And template skills skip the code and fill a designed template instead. All of the projects below were checked on GitHub or the vendor's own page on October 7, 2026; star counts are from that day.

Framework skills: Claude writes the video
1. Remotion Agent Skills
Remotion maintains an official set of skills that teach Claude how Remotion projects should be written. Install them in a project with npx skills add remotion-dev/skills. You get commands such as /remotion-create, /remotion-markup for animation, layout and fonts, /remotion-studio to preview and /remotion-render to export, plus skills for captions and map animations. Pick this if you want a normal React codebase you can version, reuse and render on a server. The trade-off is the visual ceiling: it draws what a web page can draw. The Claude Code and Remotion tutorial walks through a full build.
2. HyperFrames
HyperFrames, from HeyGen, renders HTML, CSS and seekable animations to MP4, and it was designed with agents as the main author. For Claude Code it ships as a plugin: claude plugin marketplace add heygen-com/hyperframes, then claude plugin install hyperframes@hyperframes, then call /hyperframes:hyperframes. Pick it if you'd rather have Claude write plain HTML than React. See how to use HyperFrames with Claude Code for the full setup.
3. OpenMontage
OpenMontage is less a single skill than an agentic production system: pipeline definitions, stage skills and a tool registry that Claude Code, Codex or Cursor can follow to produce whole videos, with a motion graphics skill among them. It is the heaviest to set up, with Python, FFmpeg and a Remotion composer to install, and its AGPL-3.0 license matters if you plan to build a product on it. Pick it when the job is a full production rather than a few seconds of graphics.
Focused skills: one job, done well
4. Pixel2Motion
Pixel2Motion takes a raster logo, rebuilds it as a clean SVG and animates it with CSS, then exports HTML plus GIF and video previews with QA files that check the animation against the original mark. It is the most practical way to get a logo animation out of Claude without drawing paths by hand. More in Pixel2Motion, explained.
5. motion-graphic
This small, recently updated project turns a brief plus reference material (docs, screenshots, numbers, URLs) into a single HTML file: a canvas animation with synthesized sound, a mobile player and an automated verification step. Its README includes the same prompt run through Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5, which is a useful way to judge it before installing. It is early, so expect rough edges.
6. Claude Motion Studio
Claude Motion Studio is a Remotion project with two skills in .claude/skills/ that activate when you open the repo in Claude Code: one for motion design decisions, one for building and rendering. You clone it rather than install it, then ask for something like a kinetic typography intro or an app UI ad from a site URL. It is a good starting point if you want the Remotion route with more design guidance than the official skills give.
Template skills: skip the code
7. AutoAE Skill
With the code skills above, the model draws everything on screen, so a designed look takes rounds of prompting. The AutoAE Skill starts from the other end: AutoAE's Motion Graphic Agent fills a professionally designed template with your text, images or video and returns MP4 clips. Install it with npx skills add https://autoae.online (Node.js 24 or later). It makes clips, not full edits, so pair it with a code skill when you need a whole video.
How to choose
You want a reusable video codebase or data-driven videos: Remotion Agent Skills.
You want Claude to write plain HTML instead of React: HyperFrames.
You need a full production with footage and narration: OpenMontage.
You only need the logo to move: Pixel2Motion.
You need a few seconds that look designed, fast: the AutoAE Skill, dropped into whichever project you are building.
A skill is a folder of instructions and scripts that Claude Code loads when a task matches it. Video skills mostly teach Claude a framework's rules, so it writes code that renders correctly the first time instead of guessing at the API.
Do these skills work in Codex or Cursor too?
Most do. Remotion's skills, HyperFrames, OpenMontage and motion-graphic all list support for coding agents beyond Claude Code. Claude Motion Studio is set up specifically for Claude Code.
Can I combine skills?
Yes. A common pattern is to build the video in Remotion or HyperFrames and bring in a logo animation from Pixel2Motion or a designed template clip as an asset.
